A little about the origination of Nani Handbags from Southern Italy
Nani started with three designer artisans handcrafted a collection of highest Quality Italian leather using skills passed down from generation to generation; Nani was born in a very important place in the neighboring province of Bacilicata, called Matera (this word means Mother in ancient Greek). Matera was known for the cave communities that existed here until the 1960's, when the cave inhabitants left them for newer constructions. This side of the city has been protected by the Worldwide Heritage Fund and by UNESCO. Prehistoric remains have also been found in the area. Although Nicole lives in Beverly Hills, CA since 2005 her original designs and handmade leather goods still originate from Matera as she has established a working ethic to help the people preserve Matera and maintain the designs and original styles.

Each product is designed and hand-crafted in keeping with the best of Southern traditional Italian style and excellence!
